In 2015, the United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

The Agenda’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and their 169 targets, aim at eradicating poverty in all forms and “seek to realize the human rights of all and achieve gender equality”.

The Regional Office will be guided by the 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Agenda’s human rights-based commitment to “leave no one behind” through:
