This report focuses on the right to freedom of association of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that advocate for the protection of human rights in 10 countries that the Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa (ROMENA) engages with closely.1 The report aims to stimulate reflection and dialogue on ways to enhance the promotion, enjoyment and protection of the human right to freedom of association, and to encourage States and civil society to work together for coordinated and collaborative human rights action.
